Wisconsin Dells – Where We Spent Our Best Family Getaway
Nestled in the heart of Wisconsin, the Dells is a charming town known as the “Waterpark Capital of the World”. It’s a popular destination for families looking for a fun-filled getaway, and it’s where my family and I spent one of our most memorable vacations. From the thrilling waterparks to the scenic outdoor adventures, Wisconsin Dells truly has something for everyone.
The Accommodations
When it comes to accommodations, the Dells has an array of options to choose from. We opted for a cabin in the woods, surrounded by nature. It was the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern amenities. With a fully equipped kitchen, cozy fireplace, and comfortable beds, it felt like a home away from home.
The location was also ideal, as it was a short drive from all the major attractions in the Dells. We were able to wake up to the serene sounds of nature, but also have easy access to all the fun activities the town has to offer.
Waterparks Galore
No trip to the Dells is complete without a visit to one of the many waterparks. We spent a full day at Noah’s Ark, the largest waterpark in America, and it did not disappoint. With over 70 acres of water slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers, we were never bored. The highlight was definitely the Black Anaconda, a water coaster that blasts you through tunnels and drops at lightning speed.
For a more relaxing experience, we also visited Kalahari Resort, known for its indoor waterpark. We enjoyed floating along in the lazy river and trying our luck at the FlowRider surf simulator. The best part was that the waterparks were suitable for all ages, so our whole family could enjoy the fun together.
Outdoor Adventures
Aside from waterparks, the Dells is also home to numerous outdoor activities. We spent a day at Mirror Lake State Park, where we went on a scenic hike and spotted various wildlife. We also rented a boat and explored the beautiful lake, soaking up the sun while taking in the breathtaking views.
For a more adrenaline-fueled adventure, we decided to embark on a zip lining tour. The guides were incredibly friendly and made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the whole experience. It was truly exhilarating to soar through the trees and see the Dells from a different perspective.
Local Cuisines and Attractions
No vacation is complete without indulging in some local cuisines, and the Dells sure did not disappoint in that department. We enjoyed some mouthwatering cheese curds, a must-try when in Wisconsin, and also tried some delicious deep dish pizza from a local restaurant.
In addition to the amazing food, we also took some time to explore the local attractions. We visited a winery and sampled some of the finest wines from Wisconsin. We also went on an Army Duck Tour, which took us on a scenic ride through land and water. It was a unique experience and a great way to see more of the town.
Family Bonding
One of the best things about our trip to the Dells was the quality time we spent as a family. In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in our daily routines and not spend enough time together. But during our trip, we laughed, played, and made new memories that we will cherish forever.
The Dells provided the perfect setting for us to bond and create unforgettable experiences, whether it was going down a water slide together or simply sitting by the fire in our cabin. It truly brought us closer as a family and reminded us of the importance of taking a break from our busy lives to spend time together.
In conclusion
Our family getaway to Wisconsin Dells was truly one of the best vacations we’ve ever had. The town’s combination of thrilling waterparks, exciting outdoor adventures, and local attractions made it an ideal destination for families. We returned home feeling rejuvenated, closer as a family, and with lasting memories that we will cherish for years to come. If you’re looking for a fun and memorable family vacation, look no further than Wisconsin Dells.
